Reclaiming Lost Neighborhoods. Restoring Forgotten Histories.

Across the United States, Black communities have vanished—pushed out by redlining, rezoning, gentrification, and decades of political neglect. Who Lived Here? Where Did They Go? is a national movement rooted in one urgent question—and the answers it demands. We aim to uncover hidden histories, empower communities to reclaim their stories, and ignite a collective healing process from the trauma of forced displacement.

Why This Movement Matters.

Displacement is not just physical—it’s emotional, generational, and deeply psychological.
Families, elders, and children once grew up knowing every corner, lot, and porch of their neighborhoods. Those places held meaning. But when seen through an outsider’s lens, these spaces were stripped of value—bulldozed, renamed, or erased from memory.

That erasure is trauma. And trauma, left untreated, becomes inherited pain.

Many displaced residents are still living with the emotional wounds of loss. Who Lived Here? Where Did They Go? refuses to put a Band-Aid on the issue. We believe in confronting the truth, not covering it up.

Join the Movement!

We are building a national call to action that:

  • Maps and memorializes lost Black neighborhoods
  • Creates healing spaces for residents to share their stories
  • Offers tools for leaders to understand the psychological toll of displacement
  • Supports community reclamation, education, and historical acknowledgment
  • Provides speaking engagements and consultations that bring the issues to the forefront of civic and corporate leadership
